NENA

Latin / Folk / Rumba Flamenca

Between two territories, between escape and return, NENA sings with her heart and soul the past of all her kin.

NENA, born along the Meuse River into a family of Spanish political exiles, sings with intensity about the scars of migration and the memories of her grandparents’ rural Spain. Nicknamed “the little Pasionaria” in her childhood, she draws from her family history to craft compositions filled with rebellion and hope.

Balancing between Nueva Canción Latina, folk, and rumba flamenca, she takes inspiration from great figures like Chavela Vargas and Violeta Parra, blending poetic melancholy with Iberian rhythms. In 2023, after opening for Manu Chao in Liège, she embarked on her first solo project.

Her debut EP LA RAÍZ, released on March 23, 2024, delves into her roots through six tracks brimming with Hispanic warmth and raw emotion.
